The Generations Network is about to release their DNA Ancestry Groups BETA release!
This will complete the transition of Relative Genetics to 
. Below are some details that will aid in the transition.
RG website
The Relative Genetics website will remain available until July 1, 2008. We recommend making an export of your project for a personal back up.
Database Migration
The Relative Genetics project data will be migrated to on April 30, 2008. Any changes made on the Relative Genetics website after this date will have to be duplicated on . Only individuals that have not opted out will be transferred to .
Please note the following from DNA Ancestry:
- The Generations Network will load projects in batches and coordinate with group administrators to ensure the integrity of the data. Only projects with 3 or more members will be loaded.
- Only one project administrator will be loaded for each project. Additional administrators (co admins) can join the project and then be promoted to an administrator.
- Remember the default privacy setting is set to display your name in the match results. If you desire to change this, simply login, click on privacy settings and choose anonymous.
- Individuals who have opted out of the transfer to are noted in the member list as "opt out #." has no other information about these individuals.

Opt In/Out Information:
Under a non-exclusive license agreement, Relative Genetics, a business unit of Sorenson Genomics, agreed to provide customer and web site user information residing in the Relative Genetics database to The Generations Network (TGN).
Relative Genetics provided this information under the following conditions: 1) prior to providing information to TGN, Relative Genetics customers and web site users would be given an opportunity to opt-out - emails or letters were sent out to the contact information on file, 2) Relative Genetics customer and web site user information would be provided to and maintained by TGN with the customer in control of their own privacy settings, which can be changed at anytime, 3) Relative Genetics customer and web site users would always have an opportunity to add or have their information removed from the web site and 4) Relative Genetics customer and web site users information would only be used for genetic genealogy purposes.
Following the launch of the web site service, several Relative Genetics customers and web site users notified us that they were unaware of the TGN/Sorenson Genomics partnership and would like to have their information removed from . All requests to add or remove Relative Genetics customer or web site user information from have been and will continue to be honored. Please direct future request to info@relativegenetics.com or dna@ancestry.com.
